Mahima Vasishth

I am a postdoctoral scholar at the Laboratory for Effective Anti-Poverty Policies, Bocconi University.  I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine in June 2023.

My research interests are in the fields of Labor Economics, Development Economics, and Public Economics. I use experimental and quasi-experimental techniques to study how laws and social norms influence responses to gender-based violence, the economic impacts of women's empowerment, and the role of social inclusion in human capital investments.

I am a Research Affiliate at the IZA Institute of Labor Economics.  I collaborate with the International Monetary Fund, the National Council of Applied Economic Research, and the Center for Effective Governance for Indian States, providing expertise to develop evidence-based strategies aimed at reducing gender gaps in economic opportunities and enhancing welfare programs.

I am on the job market 2024-2025.
